The Audition!!!!!

Every last Wednesday of the month, Wednesday Night Original Sessions is proud to present the  comedy show, The Audition.

Hosted by Greg Stone this weeks lineup consists of an explosive cast...including the up and coming Louis Katz...http://m.nypost.com/p/entertainment/best_jests_CFoOv9zZ3Apewwtg50TlFM  According to the New York Post, Louis is ranked number 10 for best jests above heavy hitters like Conan O'Brien, Tina Fey and Lewis Black.
Born and raised in Los Angeles, Louis’s comedy career began at the incredibly early age of 9 when as part of a school project he submitted several jokes to “The Tonight Show,” two of which were read on air by Johnny Carson.  After graduating from UC Berkeley, he began performing stand-up throughout the Bay Area and quickly made a name for himself. He is now a professional comedian based in New York who can be seen at clubs and colleges across the country.

Louis has performed at the Montreal “Just for Laughs” Comedy Festival, the Atlanta “Laffapalooza” Comedy Festival, the Amsterdam “Toomler International” Comedy Festival and the Vancouver Comedy Festival. He has appeared on NBC’s “Last Call with Carson Daly,” Comedy Central’s “Live at Gotham,” Jamie Foxx’s “America’s Funniest Comics,” and HBO’s “Down & Dirty w/Jim Norton.” His half-hour “Comedy Central Presents” special airs in early 2011, coinciding with the release of his debut comedy album, “If These Balls Could Talk,” on Comedy Central Records.
Louis also produced a series of short films for Adult Swim’s superdeluxe.com, which can now be seen at youtube.com/louiskatzcomedy.

Along with Louis, we have  Chris Doucette Chris has rapidly become one of the country's best gay comics. Chris was selected as a feature comic at the Charleston Comedy Festival, Baltimore Comedy Festival, Baltimore Artscape Festival, and headlined the Ganymede Arts Festival. Chris has shared the stage with Hal Sparks, Tony Woods, Judy Gold and more. He has performed on FOX, NPR, The Joey Reynolds Show on WOR 710AM, and Comedy Nonsense on WJFK 106.7 FM. Anthony Devito joins the crew of comedians this Wednesday as well. Anthony had his film acting debut in the hit comedy from Italy, Natale a New York (Christmas in New York.) He can be seen as a co-lead in the award-winning independent feature Apostles of Park Slope. He’s acted in short comedy films playing a crack-dealing plumber, a Sharpie-sniffing office drone, a competitive priest, an inappropriately violent cop and an assassin who works for the lottery commission. Stage credits include NYC’s Manhattan Monologue Slam, the Little Monsters Festival, and the one-act comedy CTRL+ALT+DEL, written and directed by Conan writer Andres du Bouchet.

Anthony has appeared in commercials for NASDAQ, Dunkin’ Donuts, Humira, Caesars Atlantic City, CarMax, Cablevision, American Express, Fanta Soda and more. He's even been in a music video, playing a mailman in Bon Jovi's Have A Nice Day.

“Anthony DeVito has a quality that many comedians who act strive for, but few attain - he is an outstanding dramatic actor. He can reach a depth and vulnerability in a role that creates memorable performances. He takes our breath away. And that ability means that his comedic roles have the third dimension we crave. He finds the human being in every role.

Wednesday March 16th

Very excited about this weeks lineup folks!!!

We have another exciting week planned with some newly added artists.

7pm: We have the amazingly talented singer/songwriter Peter Roessler. Born and raised in Los Angeles, Peter honed his musicianship performing along the West Coast with various bands and artists. In addition to performing, he produced radio commercials for 95.5 KLOS in Los Angeles and wrote music for television.
In the summer of 2008 Peter relocated to New York City. He collaborated with Singer/Songwriter Dion Roy and together they wrote and produced “The Nearest Light EP” which debuted at #8 on the ITunes singer/songwriter charts. Since then, their music has appeared on MTV, VH-1, Comedy Central and other television channels. They are continuously touring and performing around the country. Peter also finds time to write, produce and perform with other musicians and artists in the New York and Los Angeles area.

8pm will bring the first reggae group to Sessions Wednesdays with a group called The Essentials. Singer/songwriters Michel Aubertin and Phil Grajko formed The Essentials to create innovative yet classically sounding reggae music. With conscious lyrics and unforgettable melodies, The Essentials are making a name for themselves in the contemporary reggae, blues and pop scene.

At 9pm,
While most suburban high school students were spending their weekends playing video games or attending the occasional dull house party, southern Connecticut resident Matt Talmage was busy touring the northeast with his band in a 1989 Ford conversion van. Three years, two records and roughly two hundred shows later, the closely knit group decided to go their separate ways and pursue other endeavors. Undeterred, Talmage saw the split as an opportunity to explore a more intimate sonic direction – something he had always wished to accomplish, but had avoided due to stylistic differences among the rest of his band mates. After close to a year of writing and creating, Talmage was ready to make a record.
Destinations is a delicate mix of pop, acoustic rock, and folk blended together to create a set of songs that is both beautifully melodic and expressively raw. Recine consciously avoided over-producing the record, using mostly first-take vocals and often unpolished instrumental tones. This created an album full of songs that sound as though Talmage is playing right in the living room of the listener. For those who enjoy dynamic, emotional pop music or stripped-down folksy acoustic tunes Destinations is a perfect addition to any iTunes library.

10pm We are pumped to have national touring singer/songwriter Carley Tanchon. "Anyone listening to Carley Tanchon's debut CD Peridot for the first time could be forgiven for thinking it's the work of a much older, more seasoned musician. Her sophisticated songwriting has a strong sense of structure but it's full of off-center touches that make the songs distinctive. And there's an expansiveness and reflective depth to her vocals on tunes like the torchy, experienced "Don't Chill This Flame" or the intricate jazz-blues strut of "Waiting" that belies her 22 years. She moves easily from country-tinged rocker "Image of a Man," which features the sort of complex, ambivalent lyrics you rarely find in such tunes to pensive, acoustic-flavored songs like "Fool's Gold" and the folksy "Derailing Home"." -Cleveland Scene Magazine

11pm brings us New York rocker and Mr. Potato Head enthusiast, Jaims Mullaly with his group J.Aims and The Fever. With guitarist, Dave Tucker on lead and Paul Amorese backing on cajon, Jaims and the Fever will take you through a journey of the rock genre in the style of Radiohead meets Arcade Fire. For more information on his music go to http://www.jaimsfever.com/#5a5/soundcloud

March 9th at Sessions!!!

This week at Session 73, we have an exciting line up...

At 7pm we are joined by Luke Hendon whom with amazing acoustic prowess, is bringing us back to the music of the "Django Reinhardt" heyday...

At 8pm, we will be joined by the talented Emily Angell. Emily hails from Binghamton and is now in New York City. You can find her on the net at:

9pm we welcome to the stage with his "glorious mustache" Jay Delle Valle...

Della Valle started to film his acclaimed documentary, The Glorious Mustache Challenge, which received press and attention from The Today Show, Good Morning America, Geraldo at Large, CNN, and The New York Times. "The Glorious Mustache" started when he dared a handful of friends to grow a mustache and not shave for one month. This experiment led him to have the idea to chronicle the experiences of men under 30 in their conquest to revive the "ill-fated" mustache trend. The making of film quickly gained traction and press- garnering featured articles in Time Out New York and on the front page of The New York Times. and AM New York Upon its completion, film screenings took the form of "mustache parties" where the film would play, costumes and staches would be required, and inevitably, a mustache contest would be judged by Della Valle. Press from The New York Times caught the eye of Dr. Aaron Perlut and Dr. Dan Callahan, the leaders of the American Mustache Institute, who would later indoctrinate Della Valle as "Chairman Emeritus". AMI is the one and only institution that vows to protect the legacy of the mustache and the rights of all mustached Americans.
